Online version of Jagged Alliance for PC DOS. Jagged Alliance is a 1995 turn-based tactical game with role-playing elements, the first part of the series, made by the Montreal studio Madlab Software and published by Sir-Tech Software. The player is tasked with freeing the island of Metavira from Lucas Santino by hiring mercenaries through the A.I.M. agency and taking the island back sector by sector. The campaign runs on 2 layers: a strategic map covering 60 sectors, the income from the valuable trees, the hiring of native guards and the treatment of the wounded, while the fighting itself plays out top-down and turn-based on action points. Every mercenary has their own statistics, personality and likes and dislikes towards the others, so the composition of the team matters. The game shipped for the PC on CD-ROM only and founded a series that continues to this day.

IBM PC with MS-DOS

Online emulated version of Jagged Alliance was originally developed for the IBM PC and compatible computers, with MS DOS - Microsoft Disk Operating System. It is an OS for x86-based personal computers mostly developed by Microsoft and released in 1981 as PC DOS 1.0.
MS-DOS was targeted at Intel 8086 processors running on computer hardware using floppy disks to store and access not only the operating system, but application software and user data as well. Progressive version releases delivered support for other mass storage media in ever greater sizes and formats, along with added feature support for newer processors and rapidly evolving computer architectures. Ultimately, it was the key product in Microsoft's development from a programming language company to a diverse software development firm, providing the company with essential revenue and marketing resources. It was also the underlying basic operating system on which early versions of Windows ran as a GUI.
