Super Castlevania IV

Online version of Super Castlevania IV for SNES. Super Castlevania IV is a side-scrolling platform game developed and published by Konami for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System in 1991. Following the same setting as original Castlevania on the NES, the game takes place in 1691 Transylvania, where the vampire hunter Simon Belmont must defeat the vampire Dracula. The gameplay consists of traversing timed, linear platform stages, defeating enemies with the whip or sub-weapons that require collecting hearts and can be found by destroying parts of the scenery. Simon's stand-out ability in this installment are eight-directional attacks with his whip, which allow him, among others, to damage enemies standing below and above him. The game uses 16-bit graphics featuring SNES Mode 7 with effects such as parallax scrolling, rotating rooms, and pseudo-3D objects in some locations...

SNES Console

Online emulated version of Super Castlevania IV was originally developed for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES), an 16-bit home video game cartridge-based console produced by Nintendo, first released in Japan as the Super Famicom (SFC) in 1990. The SNES is Nintendo`s second programmable home console, following the NES. The console introduced advanced graphics and sound capabilities compared with other systems at the time. The system was designed to accommodate the ongoing development of a variety of enhancement chips integrated into game cartridges to be competitive into the next generation.

Many SNES games such as Super Mario World (1990), The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (1991), Donkey Kong Country (1994), EarthBound (1994), Super Metroid (1994) and others, are often cited to be some of the greatest video games of all time...
