Commodore PET / CBM computers
Online emulated version of Pirate Adventure was originally developed for the Commodore PET
(Personal Electronic Transactor), designed by Chuck Peddle and introduced in January 1977. Together with the Apple II and the TRS-80 it was one of the
three computers that started the home computer market in 1977, and it became popular in schools, especially in Canada, the UK and Germany.
The first PET 2001 had a MOS 6502 processor at 1 MHz, 4 or 8 kB of RAM, Microsoft BASIC in ROM, a built-in 9" monochrome monitor,
a calculator style keyboard and a built-in cassette recorder. Later models such as the 4032 and 8032 (sold as CBM in Europe) brought
a full size keyboard, 32 kB of RAM, BASIC 4.0 and 80 columns. The screen shows 40 by 25 characters, games draw with the PETSCII block graphics.
Games came on cassettes and 5.25" floppy disks for the 2031, 4040 and 8050 drives.
