Prince of Persia

Online version of Prince of Persia for SNES. An action platformer with swordplay, designed, programmed and drawn by Jordan Mechner and published for the Apple II by Brøderbund in 1989. The hero, an adventurer from a foreign land, escapes the Sultan's dungeons and fights through 12 levels of traps and guards to reach the Princess, whom the Grand Vizier Jaffar has given an hour to choose between marriage and death. That hour runs in real time. Mechner traced the Prince's moves from video of his brother David and the fencing from the 1938 Robin Hood film, and the animation had no equal in its day...

Online emulated version of Prince of Persia was originally developed for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES), an 16-bit home video game cartridge-based console produced by Nintendo, first released in Japan as the Super Famicom (SFC) in 1990. The SNES is Nintendo`s second programmable home console, following the NES. The console introduced advanced graphics and sound capabilities compared with other systems at the time. The system was designed to accommodate the ongoing development of a variety of enhancement chips integrated into game cartridges to be competitive into the next generation.
